Both of these phones were released recently ,and please dont mistake the moto g 2013 version with the 2014 version ,because they are two different phones The xperia E3 follows the xperia E1 and has a slightly better camera .But lets find out more about these phones.
Displays,
designs and sizes
The Xperia E3 reminds us of another Sony
phone, Xperia M2, having a flat back with rounded corners, only that it doesn’t
feature that transparent layer of plastic which looks like glass. Though, it
does have a shatterproof glass on top of its display. This phone measures
137.1×69.4×8.5mm, it has a weight of 143.8grams and its screen is sized at
4.5inches. However, the TFT display doesn’t live up to our expectations when it
comes to resolution, supporting only 480x854pixels with 218ppi.
The new Moto G has a bigger size, but it
kept the same plastic built material as its predecessor. The back panel is
still removable, has the camera and Motorola logo in the same place, but on the
front panel there’s a brand new physical button below the screen. Speaking of
the screen, it’s an IPS LCD sized at 5inches, which supports 720x1280pixels and
294ppi, and it’s covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 against scratches. Its
body dimensions are 141.5×70.7x11mm and it weights 149grams.
Hardware
and OS
Believe it or not, but both phones are
powered by a Cortex A7 processor with four cores, clocked at 1.2GHz, based on a
Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, only that the Xperia E3 uses the MSM8926-2
series, while the Moto G comes with the MSM8226 series. As for the graphics, we
must mention that both phones are using an Adreno 305.
While both of them are equipped with 1GB
of RAM, the Xperia E3 has the smallest internal memory of 4GB, while the Moto G
has two variants of 8 and 16GB, but in both cases, the storage can be expanded
up to 32GB.
The Xperia E3 runs on Android v4.4.2
(KitKat) and the Moto G comes loaded with v4.4.4 (KitKat) and it’s expecting to
be upgraded to Android L, once it gets released.
Cameras
The Moto G sports a better back camera
of 8MP with autofocus, LED flash, HDR and other known features, while the
Xperia E3 takes modest photos with the 5MP back snapper having the same
features as its rival. But the front camera of the Sony handset is mediocre,
being a VGA, while the Motorola phone provides a good 2MP front camera.
Batteries
This time, the Xperia E3 excels, but not
much, with the 2330mAh battery which seems to last 8 hours and 40 minutes when
talking on 3G. The battery is non-removable, and so is Moto G’s 2070mAh
battery.
Other
features
The Moto G allows you to customize its
rear shell, having lots of variants of colors and textures to choose from.
Both phones support microSIM and only
the Xperia E3 supports dualism as well.
In terms of connectivity, both phones
support Bluetooth v4.0, WiFi and microUSB, and only the Xperia E3 has 4G LTE
support.
The Xperia E3 comes with a feature
(shake to start) which allows you to activate or trigger your application by
shaking your phone.
Prices
The pricing for the Xperia E3 is 203
dollars in India, while the Moto G 16GB variant is 10 dollars more expensive.
